I would love you more than you can imagine.
Chief came from a farm not far from Dallas and lived most of his life on a small homestead with two other dogs of LGD breeds. He lived in close proximity to chickens, but they had their own fenced yard, so the dogs could protect the chickens without actually living with them. Our expectation is that Chief would be easily trained to live with chickens, but the reality is that he really prefers living in the house with his people. He has shown good manners inside, and also enjoys having a big yard to run and play in. He has done well with the other dogs he has met since coming into rescue.
Chief is not a demanding dog, but he appreciates getting love and attention from his humans. He is a little bit afraid of storms but will curl up in a crate or on a bed close to his family; he hasn't seemed nearly as anxious as some dogs we've known and loved.
Chief has a big bark and is a good size boy, so if you're looking for a companion who will make you feel safe, he could become your Chief Security Officer. If you would like to employ this handsome dog as your personal body guard, visit our website to read about the adoption process: https://www.bluebonnetrescue.org/info/adoption. And while you're there, go ahead and submit your application so you can be first in line to hire this very good boy.
